Educational Program: 1pm-3pm. Topic: Parasitology Wet Lab with Dr. Garvin of VDACS
The Annual Meeting is going to be a day long event. The board will be meeting starting at 10am to plan the 2009 events. All members are encouraged to attend with ideas and enthusiasm for the future of the club.
A potluck lunch will start at noon for goat enthusiast to meet and greet and have some great food. Bring a dish to share, and don’t forget serving utensils! Beverages provided.
The educational program will be a parasitology wet lab with Dr. Garvin. We will explore a number of methods commonly used for at-home fecals. Everyone is invited to participate. If you have a microscope, please bring it. If you have an at-home protocol that you are currently using, please come prepared with supplies to demonstrate your procedure. Fecal samples are also needed. (They will be numbered, not identified by farm or owner.) Samples will be used to help with parasite identification. Samples should be less than 24 hours old, sealed in a small plastic bag and kept cool.
There is no charge to attend the annual meeting. Members and guests are invited to attend. To support our programs, we will have 2009 calendars and cookbooks available for purchase. These make great holiday gifts. We will also have several exciting raffle items. A drawing will be held at the conclusion of the meeting.
